Review: Syahmi Daud’s Sketches

It is an opportunity and I am so grateful to be an author of Design N’ Construction as I have the chance to review these beautiful sketches.

By looking at these sketches the very first impression was ” wow! simple but AMAZING”.

Use of uncomplicated shapes in different angles and even in different sizes; but interesting how there is a minimal use of shading. So nice and elegant that Syahmi believes, having a pen and paper is the way to go. He is truly talented as his sketches proves that we as architects or designers don’t have to try different drawing tools to show off our ideas, even with one pen it is possible to demonstrate your idea and the function. Syahmi’s sketches interprets his ideas through simple and nice shapes in varies thicknesses. Looking at these two sketches makes me feel that he really took his time sketching in detail and he trusts and respects his ideas.

I believe he can draw anything from simple to complex. Notation is demonstrated strongly in the sketch which makes the viewer to understand the idea and its function clear.

I wish you all the best in future projects. Good luck !
